The Future of the Educator: A Collaborative Inquiry
A resource from Education Reimagined, Big Picture Learning, Learner-Centered Collaborative, the Institute for Self-Directed Learning, Mosaic, and The Socratic Experience exploring how the role of the educator must evolve toward something more relational, learner-centered, and responsive to the future young people will inherit.
The role we’ve long called “teacher” is being fundamentally redefined
Why this project?
What makes this project distinctive is its six-views design. Each organization contributed its own foundational essay, the other five organizations responded, and the original organization then wrote a rejoinder. The result is not a single platform or polished consensus, but a visible, honest inquiry that lets readers see both the shared convictions and the real tensions shaping the future of education—and what the field may need to build next for educator preparation and development.
A new future for educators starts here.
