NEW WORKSHOP—An Overview of Self-Directed Learning in Public Schools, Private Schools, and Adult Learning Environments

Wednesday, October 25, from 10-11am in Gutman Room 303, join Dr. Tyler Thigpen (HGSE EdLD '17), Dr. Caleb Collier, Denise Ostrowski, Brittney Toles, and Amber Bryant—co-founders of The Forest School and Institute for Self Directed Learning south of Atlanta—for an interactive workshop as they kick off a tour of their forthcoming book, (Working title) Soaring: A playbook for a relationship-based approach to self-directed learning. In this one hour workshop, Dr. Thigpen and his team will give an overview of their diverse-by-design, purpose-focused, self-directed microschool, field questions, and then guide attendees through a process to make their classrooms, schools, or organizations even more self-directed for learners.
