Sam Neisen is an award-winning high school social studies teacher who believes in the power of all young people to learn about, make decisions in, and shape the world and future in which we all live. Based in Minneapolis, MN Sam is the outreach coordinator at Exploration High School. In Minneapolis he also serves as a board member of the Hennepin County Library Board and is one of Great Minnesota School's Minneapolis Education Ambassadors. Sam has been a participant in Education Reimagined’s Learning Lab, and a member of Transcend Education’s Yellow Hats League. Sam's taught high school humanities in a variety of settings: first at an international school in Mexico, afterwards in schools in the Twin Cities' suburbs, as well as schools located right in Minneapolis. Sam is committed to bringing learner-centered educational opportunities to all students by re-thinking how and why we do school.
